Artist Set To Honor Don Daly

cd.jpg (12707 bytes) Queens artist Carlos Durazo is set to honor the memory of Donald Richard Daly. He has scheduled a display of his artwork at the "International Pot Luck Dinner" in Don Daly's name. The pot luck dinner will take place on Saturday, June 2nd, 2001 at 3 PM at 88-34 195th Place, Hollis Park Gardens, NY 11423. Carlos resides in Briarwood with his wife and family. He holds a Masters in painting from Queens College Flushing NY (1995-1997) and a Bachelors in sculpture from Otis Parsons School of Design (1982-1986). He has worked for Fortress NY, 49-20 Fifth Street,
Long Island City NY 11101 718 937-5500 as an Art Installer/truck driver 1997 to Present where his duties included installing, packaging and transporting works of fine art. At Queens College Flushing NY Carlos was a teaching assistant 1995 to 1996. At QC he helped teach students to paint and draw. Mr. Durazo also worked at The Nation Magazine 33 Irving Place New York NY 10003 212 209-5400 as a Production Assistant /Graphic artist from 1992 to 1995. At the Nation he worked as a graphic artist, typesetter, assisted production manager in preparation of the magazine. The Nation Magazine is located at 72 5th. Ave.  New York NY 11011 914 232-2963. Mr Durazo was Assistant Manager the Nation Associates 1989 to 1992 where his duties were to be in charge of database, assist in the processing of funds, help answer letters processed book orders and organizing events for The Nation Associates. Mr Durazo also worked at the Otis Parsons School of Design Los Angeles CA where he was a Teachers assistant 1982 to 1988. there his duties included teaching students to draw, paint and make sculpture. He also helped students with the operation of power tools, help teachers organize materials for class; in charge of repairing and maintaining power tools. Carlos Durazo has been a participant in the N.Y. Council of the Arts panel for awarding grants, 1992; participant in Artist in the Marketplace at the Bronx Museum, 1990, participant in production of Water and Power, a film by Pat O'Neil, 1990. Mr. Durazo was the recipient of the Ann Baxter Scholarship at Otis Parsons School of Design, 1985 Mr. Durazo is proficient in English and Spanish. His work is a joy.
